The Excalibur tournament is Warp Gammon's annual championship event. The format is a 15 pt series-of-3 elimination event with 11-pt series-of-3 consolation. Finals will be 19 pt series-of-3 and 13 pt series-of-3 respectively. More details here.

The winner of this tournament in 2011 will be invited to participate in an exhibition match against Steve Sax winner of the 2011 Backgammon Giants Invitational, defeating Matvey Natanzon (falafel) to take the title.

Steve was rated as the #5 player in the All-Time American Backgammon Tour (ABT) Standings from 1993-2007, and he won the title of ABT Player of the Year in 2002.

Winner of many doubles and singles titles, Steve makes his living teaching and playing backgammon and was rated #14 on the Backgammon Giants list for 2009.
