Strike Three is a fun annual event for Warp Gammon's regular players. There is a $100 first prize and $50 second prize, payable through PayPal. Entry is FREE (of course).

To play in this event you must have played in one of our regular events (Quantum Leap, Matterhorn or Galaxy) in the preceding 6 months.

Players are organised initially in a Major League group of 5, 6 or 7 players and must play a round robin (11 point matches) in each round. At the end of the first round, players who have 3 or more losses are 'struck out' and demoted to a Minor League group for the next round.

In the following rounds, players in Major Leagues with 3 or more losses are, once again, demoted to a Minor League for the next round. Players in a Minor League with 1 or less losses are promoted back to a Major League for the next round. Players in a Minor League with 3 or more losses must sit on the bench for the remainder of the competition.

Modified rules for leagues with 7 players: in these divisions players with 4 losses in a Major League are demoted and players with 4 losses in a Minor League are eliminated. Players with less than 3 losses in a Minor League are promoted.

When there are less than 10 players remaining in the Major League at the start of a round, the remaining Major League players will play a final round robin to determine the winners. More details here.
